Welcome1060® NetKernelTM Standard Edition is a general purpose XML Application Server running on a micro-kernel architecture virtual REST operating system. It offers a powerful Internet resource processing abstraction which goes beyond servlets and SOAP-services to provide a symmetric, protocol independent, platform for the next generation of Internet services. This distribution employs the NetKernel v2.2 micro-kernel core as the basis of a unique and modular XML Application server component set which implements the most comprehensive XML technology workbench and development environment available. New in this releaseThe Worcester Dev Kit release provides many new features and enhancements. A new control panel and documentation system provides graphical system administration and configuration. Hot and Cold Restart allows new NetKernel modules to be installed/updated on a live server. Module installation wizard operates with the 1060® module service to download, install and configure modules with full dependency management. Other system enhancements include realtime log inspection, realtime throttle management and view. The 2.2.0 microkernel has several performance optimisations. The XML libraries are enhanced. New XQuery module provides fully specification compliant XQuery support. New XForms module for Server-side XForm applications. New Session module provides session tools and layered session mapping and session affinity. New URI GateKeeper provides layered URI access control. New Database module provides seamless XML-to-SQL and ResultSet-to-XML with multiple query, update, batch options. A new module management system provides discoverable module loading. Accessors and documentation are discovered and registered with the system dynamically. Documentation presentation is improved. DPML language now supports arbitrarily named instruction arguments. XSLT/XQuery support multiple named parameters. New requestWithArgs accessor enables REST-like calls on a module URI interface. New support for IETF data: URIs enables inline data within a compound URI. New module wizard enables developers to rapidly create and register new modules with the system.
